Lectures & Training
This is an exchange program with Munich University of Applied Science to deliver three lectures in collaboration with established scholars. The main focus of these lectures was on the political economy of urbanization in the Greater Cairo Region, gender and spatial development in Cairo, and popular cultural expressions in the city. Bureau Gladys team also organized two curated tours for the 22 participants: 1) introducing the archives of the NADIM Foundation, and 2) a tour to examine neighborhoods that experienced significant urban and demographic transformations over the past decade. The activities aimed at initiating a meaningful dialogue on critical urban issues, deepened cross-cultural academic collaboration, and offered students and scholars concrete insights into the socio-political and cultural dimensions shaping Cairo’s evolving urban landscape.
Designed and delivered two training manuals for government employees in Saudi Arabia, integrating local context and improved visualization.
Research on Fustat’s spatial and political transformations, combining archival research, ethnography, and GIS mapping.
